Springnest facilitates eTourism Workshops in Livingstone, Zambia
Last week concluded our involvement in a consulting project aimed at developing a new marketing and positioning strategy for the Livingstone Tourism Association in Zambia. The project was lead by The Journey Tourism Consulting and Management, Springnest was responsible for everything and anything relating to the LTA’s online strategy.
Apart from the development of a brand new website for the region (stay tuned for an update when the site goes live around the end of November), we were recruited to host a series of online and social marketing workshops with the LTA’s members and staff. These workshops took place during 30 and 31 October and covered a number of theoretical and practical sessions and discussions, including:
- What is new in online marketing and why it is important to tourism businesses and DMO’s
- Tourism websites that sell
- Social media for tourism: trends and best practices
- Facebook for tourism crash course
- Twitter for tourism crash course
A Successful Event
We were thrilled with the turnout and response of attendees. The practical and hand-on approach to creating and managing Facebook Business Pages was a particularly productive and dynamic session – there is something powerful about seeing a business owner leave a workshop with evidence of education and implementation.
A massive thanks to Craig and James from the The LTA for making these sessions possible, The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa for the conference facilities and brilliant catering, Jollyboys for accommodation, SAFPAR for the sunset cruise and Mukuni Big 5 for the opportunity to spend time with their amazing animals.
